Today, 7 days before the first exam sitting, I have developed the following approach to the revision:
- Listen for exam approach / analysis interview on ACCA website
- Highlight the issues which deserve attention. They were
a) presentation of the answer,
b) attention to the verbs in question,
c) attention to the AND directive in the question - Read through the introductory chapter of Kaplan Exam Kit and do the same thing as in previous step. Identified: pay attention to Sarbanes-Oxley act.
Then go through detailed revision plan. For each topic:
- Skim-read trough indicated “Complete text” chapters. Attempt “test your understanding” questions as seemed appropriated, but do not spend too much time for this.
- Answer (part of) the question as requested in “questions to attempt” column in writing. The rest of the question is attempted orally with aid of brief / schematic written notes.
- For those question parts, which relates to topics not revised yet, the jump-forward-and-pick technique is applied. Read exactly part of “the complete text” that relevant to the question and remember it well. Mark it accordingly to facilitate further recognition of revised parts in order to avoid double-reading later. At the time of revision of the whole chapter, marked parts are ignored altogether in order to keep schedule.
Notes:
- pay attention to highlighted key phrases
